Sweet & Sour Veggie Kit
Brussels sprouts have always had their fans, but this Sweet & Sour Veggie Kit might win over a few new ones. The sprouts come quartered, washed, and ready to cook — just pop them in the air fryer or roast them in the oven until tender with lightly caramelized edges. Once they’re hot and golden, toss them with the sweet and sour glaze for a glossy finish that adds a bright balance of tangy and sweet.
Air fryer fans, you are in luck! This kit cooks up in about 10 minutes. Prefer the oven? That works just as well. Spread them on a sheet pan and roast until they’re golden and cooked through (about 20-25 minutes).
Each serving of these delightful cruciferous veggies contains just 80 calories and doubles as a great source of vitamins C and K. And since everything is washed and prepped, you can prep this side dish without trimming, chopping, or extra prep.
Try them with:
- Grilled chicken, salmon, or pork chops for a simple weeknight dinner
- Rice or quinoa bowls topped with your favorite protein
- Stir-fried noodles or dumplings for an easy side dish
- Steamed rice with green onions or sesame seeds for a quick veggie-forward meal
Sauté Instructions: Heat 1 TBSP neutral oil in a large sauté pan or wok. Add brussels sprouts. Cook for 5-7 minutes, cut side down. Stir and continue cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until tender and caramelized. Allow to cool for 1 minute. Add to dish and toss in provided sauce.
Steam Instructions: Fill a pot with about 1 inch of water and bring to a boil. Place sprouts in a steamer basket above the water. Cover and steam for 6-10 minutes, until tender but still slightly firm. Allow to cool for 1 minute. Add to dish and toss in provided sauce.
Microwave Instructions: Add Brussels sprouts to a microwave safe container. Add 1 cm water to the bottom of the container. Loosely cover with plastic wrap, leaving a small vent hole on the edge. Microwave on High for 3 minutes. Carefully pull back the plastic wrap and test Brussels sprouts for fork tenderness. If still too hard, re-cover and microwave at 45 second intervals, checking for tenderness. Once cooked, drain out all extra water. Toss in provided sauce
