Wondering how to best use romaine lettuce? To make a fresh, crispy salad, chop the romaine by slicing roughly. Top with any of your favorite salad ingredients—whether sliced peppers, cucumbers, grape tomatoes, or carrots. Drizzle (or douse) with your favorite dressing and dig in!

Romaine is usually the lettuce of choice in classic Caesar salads, due to its firmness and crunch. It’s also particularly great at holding on tight to the Caesar salad dressing. To make a tasty Caesar salad, chop or rip apart your romaine lettuce (how large you want the pieces to be is up to you). Toss into a bowl, and top with shredded parmesan cheese, garlic croutons, black pepper, and Caesar dressing. If you want to add a little protein, top your Caesar salad with sliced hard-boiled eggs, chicken, or crumbled bacon.

Break romaine into large chunks for sandwiches, too. If you’d like to slice around the harder rib section of the leaf, it will lay flatter on the sandwich. Try on burgers and veggie burgers, too! However you like to eat your romaine, make it your own and serve as a healthy side to any meal.
