Cobb Styled Salad Recipe

In our opinion, the Taylor Farms Sunflower Crunch Chopped Salad Kit can be considered a comfort food of sorts — fresh green leaf lettuce, kale, sunflower seeds, and crumbled bacon, all tossed with a sweet onion dressing. Savory, sweet, crunchy, satisfying, and, of course, bacon. How can you make it even more of a comfort salad? Easy: turn it into a Cobb salad.

All you need are heirloom tomatoes, some soft-boiled eggs, and, well, even more bacon. Congrats, you have just created the Sunflower Crunch Cobb Salad! What a thrilling (i.e., delicious) time to be on the edge of salad innovation.

Directions

  1. Soft boil the eggs (or cook to your preference). While the eggs are cooking, start cooking the bacon — microwave, stove top, cast iron skillet, in the oven, whichever you prefer. Let cool.
  2. After the egg and bacon cool, slice the tomatoes and chop the bacon.
  3. Assemble the chopped kit and top with the soft-boiled eggs, bacon, and tomato slices. Serve and enjoy!

Soft-Boiled Eggs 101

Are you new to the whole soft-boiled egg thing? It’s way easier than you think.

For delicious soft-boiled eggs, gently lower raw eggs into boiling water for about 6–7 minutes for a jammy yolk that’s still a bit runny. Immediately plunge them into an ice bath to stop the cooking—this helps with peeling and keeps that perfect creamy center.

Might as well do a few more while you’re at it, right? Leftover soft-boiled eggs are incredibly versatile. You can incorporate them into several types of dishes, like grain bowls, noodles, sandwiches, and many more. They also pair well with avocado toast or mixed into fried rice for a silky, rich texture and a more savory flavor. Need a fast, protein-rich breakfast? Halve your egg, season with ample salt and pepper (maybe a drizzle of olive oil or a dash of hot sauce as well), and be on your way!
