We have exciting news! In a recent announcement from The White House, 141 organizations, including our team here at Taylor Farms, have committed to a bold pledge to end hunger and reduce diet-related diseases across the United States. This initiative, launched by the Biden-Harris Administration in response to the pressing issues of hunger and nutrition, is part of a nationwide effort to tackle these challenges by 2030.

Taylor Farms is proud to be selected as a participant in this year’s White House Challenge to End Hunger and Build Healthy Communities. This recognition emphasizes our dedication to producing fresh, nutritious produce and actively contributing to the well-being of the communities around us.

Progress Starts at Home

It’s no secret: Hunger and diet-related diseases pose significant challenges in today’s society. However, Taylor Farms is also proud to report tangible progress made within our own team. Through initiatives like “Lettuce Be Healthy,” which provides access to annual health screenings, chronic disease management programs, and 24/7 digital physician care for over 20,000 of our Taylor Farms team members, we have seen truly remarkable results!

But Taylor Farms’ commitment to health and wellness extends beyond its own workforce. We remain dedicated to providing great-tasting salads and healthy fresh foods to enable Americans to make healthier choices. With 265 million servings of healthy fresh food provided per week across various outlets, including retail grocery stores, food service outlets, restaurant chains, schools, food banks, and convenience stores, Taylor Farms is on a mission to create healthy lives through the vegetables it produces and the ways it gives back to the communities it serves.

Our Future Goals

As part of its pledge to the White House Challenge, we have outlined specific goals to be achieved by the end of 2024:

Educating Consumers

Taylor Farms will add nutritional claims and information to the majority of our packaging, transitioning over 100 items nationally. These efforts will be promoted through e-commerce, social media, and point-of-sale promotions to educate consumers about the joy and benefits of healthy fresh foods!

Leading by Example

Taylor Farms will continue our “Lettuce Be Healthy” program, providing team members with access to health screenings and chronic disease management programs. Additionally, our company will encourage increased consumption of fruits and vegetables through a product donation program, offering onsite salad bars and weekly produce boxes at select pilot locations.

Final Thoughts

Our commitment to promoting health and nutrition goes beyond words — it is backed by action! With initiatives aimed at educating consumers, supporting our own team members, and giving back to the community, Taylor Farms is leading by example in the fight against hunger and diet-related diseases.
